At Jensen’s, we know that you’re not just buying furniture… you are creating a home.

That’s why we work so hard to create a pleasant shopping experience.

Planning Your Room

Since 1983, customers have turned to Jensen’s for assistance in picking the perfect furnishings for their homes.
A few of the things that you’ll want to consider about your room are:

 Walls
 Ceiling
 Floors
 Windows
 Furniture
 Lighting
 Fabric
 Color
 Accessories
 Maintenance

Just looking for a fresher face?

While your core furniture selections are important, smaller items like lamps, pictures, rugs, throw pillows, floral arrangements, and other decorative accessories can often be just as important. Jensen’s is the perfect source for accessories that add the perfect splash of “new”.

Helpful Hints:

  • A good rule of thumb is to hang artwork approximately 60 inches from the floor. If using a grouping use the rule for the largest piece and hang others around.
  • Do not overcrowd a room. Less is better.
  • Light colors recede making rooms look larger.
  • Dark colors draw in a room and make it look smaller.
  • Place accessories of varying sizes and heights together for more interest.
  • Use three main colors in rooms. One being the dominant with the other two secondary. Others colors can be used to enhance the room.
  • Use family memorabilia in decorating your home to show your families personalities and give it a cozy feeling.
  • Besides moving furniture to get a different look in your room, change around accessories. A change of color, rugs, or throw pillows may be all you need to add some new life to a room. To the most dramatic change, paint a room a different color.
  • You can “antique” red brick with white and black shoe polish.
  • To add zest to concrete or old wood floors stencils can be added. Be sure to finish with polyurethane to achieve a clean and polished look.

Cleaning Your Furniture:

When cleaning your furniture it is important to pay attention to the various cleaning codes that are provided by the manufacturer. Below is a list of the codes commonly used in the furniture industry.

W        Water-based Cleaners
To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean using the foam only from a water-based cleaning agent such as a mild detergent or non-solvent upholstery shampoo. Apply foam with a soft rag or brush in a circular motion. Vacuum when dry .Always pretest a small area before proceeding.

S         Solvent or Dry Cleaning Products
To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean using a mild water-free solvent or dry cleaning product. Clean only in a well-ventilated room and avoid any product containing carbon tetrachloride, which is highly toxic. Pretest small area before proceeding.

W-S    Solvent and/or Water-Based Cleaners
To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean with a mild solvent, an upholstery shampoo or the foam from a mild detergent. When using a solvent or dry cleaning product, follow instructions carefully and clean only in a well-ventilated room. With either method, pretest a small area before proceeding.

X          Vacuum or Brush Only
Clean this fabric only by vacuuming or light brushing to prevent accumulation of dust and grime. Water based foam cleaners or solvent based cleaning agents of any kind may cause excessive shrinking, staining, or distortion of the surface pile and therefore should not be used.
